Moving to Makati City

I have been living in Pineda, Pasig City since 2015 and today, I am officially leaving Pasig City. I am moving to a nearby city, which is Makati City.

Moving to another city means relocating to a different geographical area, usually for an extended period of time. This can involve leaving behind familiar surroundings, friends, and family, and adjusting to a new environment, culture, and way of life.

Just beside the mighty Pasig river between the cities of Pasig and Makati.

Moving to another city can bring many changes, both positive and negative. It can provide new opportunities, such as better job prospects, a lower cost of living, or a new way of life, but it can also present challenges, such as adapting to a new environment, establishing a new social network, and managing the stress of the transition.

Moving to another city requires careful planning and preparation, including research about the new city, finding a place to live, and establishing a new support network. However, it can also be an exciting and transformative experience, providing the chance to start fresh, learn new skills, and make new memories.

History of Gamu, Isabela

The town of Gamu was established on Decmeber 5, 1741. The name "Gamu" or "gamu-t" in old texts refers to the roots of tall grasses like cogon, deeply embedded in the soil. Originally part of Cagayan Valley, Gamu became part of Nueva Vizcaya in 1856 and later joined Isabela in 1859.

San Gabriel de Batauag, the first mission, was established in 1612 by Dominican missionaries. After initial conflicts, the mission was restored in 1673, leading to the emergence of Cabagan, Itugod, and Santa Rosa de Gamu-t.

Financial constraints led Santa Rosa de Gamu-t and Our Lady of Victories of Itugod to merge in 1741, with Gamu as the central settlement. Under Dominican care until 1922, Gamu later saw leadership shifts, including Filipino priests and La Salette missionaries from 1962 to 1977.

An earthquake in December 1949 damaged the church and convent, resulting in the construction of a wooden church in 1950-1951 near the Spanish Church ruins.

It's 38 years since...

First of all, thanks be to God for reaching this 38th years of life on Earth. With the instrumentality of my loving parents, I was born in Ilagan, Isabela. It is now a city that's around 400 kilometers north of capital city of Manila. I am really grateful to reach this age and with God's permission, more years to come and go.

Second, I wish to earn more money because that's the only thing that I don't have much. I could help family members and the community I belong to more than the usual I can. This is in support of realizing our dreams and inspiration. I can also realize my personal dream of having my own house in Baras, Rizal as it now is being constructed that I got from pre-selling since year 2019.

Third, I always wanted to continue and finish my degree in Mass Communication while working in call center. God-willing, by age 40, I am already a degree holder or later than that. I want to be part of the mainstream media industry someday here in the Philippines.

Predominantly

Why are you a Catholic? It's because Philippines is dominated by Roman Catholic and you were born a Filipino. Why are you a buddhist? It's because Japan is dominated by buddhism and you were born a Japanese. Why are you a Hindi? It's because India is dominated by Hinduism and you were born an Indian.

Let's try to turn things around. You are a Catholic member, what if you were born in Japan, will you be a Catholic still? Will you be converted to Hinduism? That's the big question.

It's not because your country is dominated by this, dominated by that, then you are obliged to be there, to be part of this and that. All you need is to do is to think if you have to be there.

I was born Catholic and got baptized by them when I was a newborn. I even got the chance to meet the so-called godparents when they were introduced to me by my parents. There are only four of them, to my knowledge. And all I need to do is to think if I have to be a Catholic forever. I'm no longer a Catholic now since I was using my mind.

So I have been to many groups like born again christians, pentecostal, visisted baptist and mormon church, listened to Almeda, listened to iglesia ni kristo, listened to Vilarde but they were nothing. Until I found the radio program Ang Dating Daan during my fourth-year high school. That's the story so far.

To Amend or Not To Amend: That is the Question. A Debate on Charter Change.
